Met Capt. J. J. Carroll onboard the USS Weigel due to a fight I got into. He made us PT with 3/4 as punishment. Happened to notice his start tour status is blank on Wall info. We departed San Diego on 11 Aug, 1966 arriving in DaNang 28days later. Hope that sheds enough light on his status document in hopes it can be updated to reflect his Tour start date. I was not in 3/4 but had a chance meeting aboard the ship enroute to Vietnam.
Disregard my last post. my mistake
3/4 is being considered for deactivation in 2014. I believe it is the only rifle bn to be axed.
